Teachers manhandled by students of Navodaya School

Agartala, Sep 19 (UNI) Tension prevailed at the Navodaya School in Ramchandraghat under Khowai sub-division in Tripura's West district following an attack on three teachers, including the Principal-In-Charge, by a group of unruly students.

Official sources today said a group of students with their faces covered, entered the school premises on Sunday night and physically abused the Principal-In-Charge and two teachers of the Navodaya school. They were attacked when they tried to stop the attackers from breaking the school furniture, light and other valuables.

The hooligans also allegedly ransacked the residential quarter of the Principal-In-Charge. Five students were arrested in this connection.

All the injured were admitted to the Khowai hospital.

The reason behind the attack was not known yet.Investgation is on to uncover the motive.
