Sultry weather prevails in Punjab, Haryana
Chandigarh, Sep 19 (UNI) Sultry weather conditions prevailed at most places in the plains of Punjab and Haryana in the absence of rains during the past 24 hours.
However, parts of Himachal Pradesh experienced light to moderate rain since last night, dipping the temperatures in the state.
Barring Nangal Dam site, which recorded 28 mm rainfall overnight, there was no rainfall in Punjab and Haryana.
Parts of Himachal Pradesh received light to moderate rain overnight, including mid and lower hills. Kasol was the wettest place in the state, recording 55.2 mm, followed by Bhuntar measuring 29.5 mm, Una 29.4 mm, Rampur 27.0 mm, Sujanpur Tira 25.0 mm and Barthin 22.6 mm.
Chandigarh and its adjoining areas experienced partially cloudy sky with the Sun showing up occasionally throughout the day. Humid conditions prevailed in the city with relative humidity touching 88 per cent.
The Met Office predicted moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers at many places in Himachal Pradesh and light to moderate rain or thundershowers at few places in Haryana and Punjab during the next 24 hours.
