Sub-Inspector arrested for accepting bribe

Hyderabad, Sep 19 (UNI) A Sub-Inspector of police belonging to Vidapanakallu station of Anantapur district was today arrested by the sleuths of the Anti-Corrupton Bureau (ACB) on bribery charges.

According to an ACB release, the accused Sub-Inspector S K Mohmood Dowla was caught red handed from his residence while accepting a bribe amount of Rs 1000 from the complainant for an official favour.

The accused would be produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases here.

Meanwhile, the Special Judge for ACB cases, Vijayawada convicted and sentenced a Village Administrative Officer K Chandrakaladhar, of Ponnur Mandal in Guntur district, to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs 2500 under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
