'State Safety Award' for CVRDE

Chennai, Sep 19 (UNI) The Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) at suburban Avadi, has won the first prize for 'State Safety Award' for the years 2003 and 2004.

State Labour Minister T M Anbarasu presented the awards at a function held here recently, a defence press release said.

Mr S Shanmugasundaram, Safety Officer, Mr M Sekar, Secretary, Safety Committee and members of the safety committee, CVRDE, received the awards, on behalf of the CVRDE Director, it said.

Mr S Murugesan, Technical Officer ''A'' of CVRDE has been selected as winner in ''Tamila Arasin Uyarntha Uzhaiplar Virudhu'' for his outstanding contribution in salvaging the moving target trolley with limited resources in record time at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Suratgarh, the release added.
