State level Sports Meet in Mysore from Sep 26

Mysore, Sep 19 (UNI) A three-day State level Sports Meet will be held here from September 26, coinciding with the Dasara festivities.

Dasara Sports Committee Member Secretary Srinivas told newspersons here that over 1,600 sportspersons from all over the State would participate in the tournament. As many as 15 events would be held for both boys and girls.

Athletics would be conducted at Chamundivihar sports complex here. Adventure sports like climbing Chamundi hills would also be part of the meet, besides cycling for both men and women from Ramanagara to Mysore and Mandya to Mysore respectively, he said.

The Committee would also hold a half marathan for high school boys and girls, college boys and girls and open class on September 27 and the winner would bag a cash prize of Rs 25,000. Over 5,000 participants were expected to run in the half marathon, to be flagged off by district incharge Minister D T Jayakumar.
