Spain to play Argentina in friendly on Oct 11

MADRID, Sep 19 (Reuters) Spain are to host a friendly against Argentina in Murcia on October 11, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said today.

The game will take place four days after Spain's Euro 2008 qualifier against Sweden.

Spain lost 3-2 to Northern Ireland in their previous Group F qualifier on Sept 6, while Argentina were beaten 3-0 by Brazil in a friendly in London on Sept 3.

Spain and Argentina last met in a friendly in Seville in November 1999 when Argentina won 2-0 with second half goals from Kily Gonzalez and Mauricio Pochettino. They have met 10 times previously, with Spain winning three times, Argentina five times with two matches drawn.
