Siddaramaiah comes down heavily on Kumaraswamy
Mysore, Sep 19 (UNI) Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramiah today launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for misusing official machinery and beginning election campaign even before the dates are announced for the byelection to the Chamundeswari Assembly seat in the district.
Addressing mediapersons here, he said he is not against the Chief Minister laying foundation stone for various community halls in the constituency. However, at the same time, the Chief Minister should not misuse his office to only attack him.
Mr Siddaramiah said he is ready to face any challenge from the ruling parties during the bypoll to the seat he had vacated recently and asked Mr Kumaraswamy to refrain from misguiding the people on developmental aspects. He exuded confidence that the people of the constituency would not listen to the CM's false propaganda.
Reiterating the Congress demand for a CBI probe into the bribery allegations made by BJP MLC Janardhana Reddy against the Chief Minister, he said no other agency in the country was superior to CBI.
He said the Congress had accepted JD(S) President H D Deve Gowda's war against the party and said he had seen many such wars waged by Mr Gowda when he was with them.
