Professor robbed of Rs 5 lakh

Surat, Sep 19 (UNI) A professor in a city-based engineering college was robbed of Rs five lakh by two unidentified people yesterday.

The police said Prof Hirenbhai Vavarya had withdrawn Rs five lakh from a bank and was proceeding to home on his motorcycle when he received a call on his mobile phone.

The professor stopped to take the call when the duo, astride a motorcycle, approached him and snatched away the bag containing the cash, the police said.
