Opposition 'politicising' power issue : CLP
Hyderabad, Sep 19 (UNI) Maintaining that not a single crop had withered due to lack of power, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Spokesman G Muddukrishnamma Naidu today alleged that the opposition parties were 'politicising' the power crisis in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a press conference here, he accepted that some parts of the state faced drought, due to lack of rains for more than 60 days.
However, he alleged the previous TDP government had totally neglected the farm sector and it was unfortunate the opposition party was now politicising the peasants' problems.
Even the state legislature had discussed the drought situation, he informed, adding that the government had ensured seven hours of power supply to protect the standing crops and provided inputs at subsidised rates to raise alternative crops.
