Mumbai top cop summoned by SC Commission

Bhopal, Sep 19 (UNI) Taking a serious view of an allegedly derogatory word against SCs during the 'Laughter Challenge Show' on a TV channel, the Delhi-based National SC Commission has summoned the Police Commissioner, Mumbai, on October 15.

''The date was fixed after the Commissioner gave a clarification regarding the law and order situation in that metropolis. Earlier, the bureaucrat was served a notice once and summons twice,'' Commission Vice-Chairman Fakir Bhai Waghela told journalists here today.

The Commissioner had expressed inability to present himself before the Commission as he was preoccupied in the wake of the transit terror assault and Malegaon blasts.

The Commission received complaints regarding the derogatory word mentioned in the programme.
