MP, C'garh ink MOU on road transport
Bhopal, Sep 19: The Madhya Pradesh government has issued formal notification to give effect to agreement reached with the Chhattisgarh government for inter-state operation of passenger buses and good carriers.
Senior officers of the Transport department of both states earlier signed agreements on routes and trips of passenger bus operation on both nationalised and denationalised roads. The notification was issued to legalise the agreement, Transport Principal Secretary M K Rai said.
Under the agreement, six places of tourist importance of both states have been declared free zones for hassle-free operation of tourist vehicles. These places include Amarkantak and Kanha-Kisli in Madhya Pradesh and Bhoramdeo and Dongargarh in Chhattisgarh.
Chhattisgarh was carved out of Madhya Pradesh in November, 2000.
