Metal prices rise along with LME
Mumbai, Sep 19 (UNI) Metal prices rose in line with London Metal Exchange on better buying support, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.
In the ferrous segment (per quintal), copper utensils and brass cutting shot up by Rs 500 each per quintal while copper heavy and brass utensils rose by Rs 200 each per quintal on reduced stock supply while aluminium utensils declined by Rs 100 per quintal on thin buying support.
In the non-ferrous category (per quintal), copper wire bars and zinc slab hiked by Rs 200 and Rs 300 per quintal respectively on lesser stock supply.
Tin slab and Nickel cathode went up by Re one and Rs ten per kg respectively on improved demand.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,000, Copper utensils - Rs 32,500, Brass utensils - Rs 22,600, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,800.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,800, Aluminium ingots - Rs 13,000, Zinc slab - Rs 19,000, Lead ingots - Rs 6,800, Tin slab - Rs 521 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,640 (per kg).
