Lenovo introduces first ThinkCentre Desktop PCs
Mumbai, Sept 19: Lenovo today unveiled the new ThinkCentre A60, the first worldwide ThinkCentre desktop personal computer featuring an AMD processor.
Available in a mini-tower or small desktop, the ThinkCentre A60 delivers mainstream enterprise features such as dual-core processing and improved virus protection and recovery tools for customers in need of manageable desktop solutions, said a Lenovo press release here.
Large enterprise and mid-market customers focused on acquisition costs will find that the A60 provides the quality and manageability they expect in a ThinkCentre without sacrificing the enterprise-level features synonymous with the ThinkCentre line.
The A60 provides exceptional performance on the business applications that customers use most. From graphic design and complex statistical computation, to medical imaging, the A60 allows for fast, easy downloading and processing that saves valuable time and increases productivity.
The ThinkCentre A60 models are preloaded with 'ThinkVantage' Technologies, a suite of software tools that help maintain user productivity and reduce costly and time consuming calls to the help desk. Using Rescue and Recovery, customers can quickly access a set of self-recovery tools to help diagnose, contact help and recover from a virus or other software crash, even if the primary operating system does not boot.
''The AMD processors available in the ThinkCentre A60 translate to high speed, high performance CPU, ideal for today's heavy multi-tasking user. They are designed to support next-generation platform innovations such as AMD Virtualization and high-performance, unbuffered DDR2 memory,'' said Bob Brewer, corporate vice president, Desktop Division, AMD.
The A60 also comes equipped with 6 USB 2.0 ports, front side audio ports and internal speakers, he added.
