Law university to come up at Amargol

Bangalore, Sep 19 (UNI) The Legislature session at Belgaum, scheduled to commence on September 25, is likely to pass the Karnataka Law Universities Bill 2006 to enable the State Government to set up a Law University at Amargol between Hubli and Dharwad.

Disclosing this to mediapersons here, Home Minister M P Prakash said Special Officer on Duty J S Patil, appointed by the Government, had submitted a report proposing the place for the varsity and suugesting acquisition of 49 acres of land at Amargol. This land was earlier allotted to the State Reserve Police, but left unutilised, he said, quoting the report.

He said all preparations would be made and the university would come into existence soon after the passage of the Bill.
