Lalu's house worth Rs 12.41 lakhs only: Counsel

Patna, Sep 19 (UNI) While arguing in Disproportionate Assets (DA) case, counsel for Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today claimed that his client's house here was not valued at Rs 19.14 lakhs as stated by the CBI but Rs 12.41 lakhs only.

The final argument in the case was on before special CBI judge of Patna Munilal Paswan on behalf of Mr Yadav and his wife former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi.

Counsel Ranapratap Singh said the value of the house worth Rs 12.41 lakhs was accepted by the Income Tax Appealate Tribunal in its judgement.

The counsel further said Mr Yadav had not invested a single paisa in the house situated at Phulwaria which was a Hindu joint family property. The valuation report of the said house is not fit to be accepted as the year of construction had not been proved, he argued.

According to the charges, Mr Yadav had amassed wealth valued to the tune of Rs 46 lakhs between 1990 and 1997 which was disproportionate to his all known sources of income.
