Israeli forces kill Palestinian gunman in W Bank
JENIN, West Bank, Sep 19: Israeli forces shot today dead a Palestinian gunman in an exchange of fire in the West Bank, local residents and the Israeli army said.
''Israeli forces came to arrest a wanted man. They surrounded his house. He came out and opened fire at the forces. They returned fire and he was killed,'' an army spokesman said about the incident in the village of Sanur, near the town of Jenin.
Residents gave an identical account and identified the man as Nabil Hanana, 27, a militant belonging to President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction.
