Hyderabad and Chemplast declared joint winners

Hyderabad, Sep 19 (UNI) With heavy rain lashing the city for the last three days, the All India Moin-Ud-Dowla Gold Cup cricket tournament final between Hyderabad and Chemplast was called off at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium here today.

The teams were declared joint winners. The replica of the trophy would be presented to the teams tomorrow morning.

The efforts of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) officials with the help of groundsman to dry the ground went in vain as umpires, after their final inspection of the pitch and outfield at 1100 hours, found it unfit and called off the play for today and tomorrow.

The organisers cancelled the match after assessing the situation.
