Kolkata, Sep 19 (UNI) Martina Hingis today spent the day away from the purple haze of the tennis courts in the peaceful ambience of Mother House and returned with a treasure of memories after donating 20,000 dollars to the Missionaries of Charity.
A favourite of all the visitors to the city, Mother Teresa's house was the destination for the Swiss Miss as she spent about an hour at the Missionaries of Charity.
She went there at about 1030 hrs and was present till around 1120 hrs.
Martina told UNI, ''The experiences of visiting the Mother House was a lingering moment that she will carry in her heart forever.
Yes, the visit to the mother house was very important and inspirational experience.'' ''People can hardly emulate the things she has done. She had a vision and goal that people should try to achieve. It's so difficult to live a life like her and attain whatever she has got. If my game and my smile helps people in someway I shall remain thankful.'' She also donated 20,000 dollars to the mother house. Her doubles partner Liezel Huber, Tamarine Tanasugarn and Melinda Czink also accompanied her.
Martina was also accompanied by her mother Melany, Swetha Bhupathi for Globosports and a few ITC officials.
The tennis queen was in pinkish-white top and blue jeans and looked very bright. She went to mother house and then Sishu Bhawan to interact with the nuns and the orphans brought up there.
According to Swetha, Martina wanted to visit the place and is very happy to get the chance to go there. This is the place she always wanted to visit and felt at peace with herself after visiting that place.
