Gang which prepared fake marksheets of technical courses busted

New Delhi, Sep 19 (UNI) The Delhi Police have busted a gang of inter-state cheats, who procured fake marksheets of various technical and non-technical courses from private universities of Chhattisgarh, which were debarred by the Supreme Court in February last year.

A special team of the crime branch of Delhi police have arrested Sanjay Srivastava of XEL Informatics in Uttam Nagar of Delhi who conspired with officials of some of these private universities and officials of a deemed universities in Udaipur and Tamil Nadu to fraudulently enrol some of the students of Chhattisgarh universities in the Tamil Nadu university.

Also arrested were Dheeraj Kakkar and Vishal Srivastava, the coordinator directors of XEL informatics who assisted Sanjay in the crime, as well as Vice Chancellor of Doon international University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh Shiv Kumar Gupta, Coordinator of University of Technology and Science in Raipur Ashwini Lochan and Chairman of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose computer gramin vishvidyalaya Upendra Tomar.

Though the Court debarred the private universities operating in Chhattisgarh, it, however, allowed their students to migrate to other universities and ruled that their marksheets would be eligible for the same.

Taking advantage of this, Sanjay Srivastava conspired with officials of the distance education department of the Vinayaka Mission research foundation (Deemed) (VMRF) university in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan Vidyapeeth Deemed university, Udaipur and send application forms after completion of proper formalities on fake marksheets of non-enrolled students to them.

The accepting universities accepted these marksheets without verification and authorise sanjay to conduct final year exams.

''Srivastava charged handsomely from the students for arranging fake marksheets for migration. This way, over 12000 stidents have been migrated from Chhattisgarh closed universities and completed technical degrees like M Tech, B Tech, MBA, M.Sc, B.Sc and diploma in engineering (all streams) for which they were not approved as per AICTE norms,''the police said.

A huge quantity of unchecked marksheets of the VMRF in Salem were recovered from office of XEL informatics in Vikas Puri.

A huge quantity of marksheets of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose computer gramin vishvidyalaya were also recovered from their office. These marksheets were of students fraudulently enrolled in VMRF in Salem through migration.

The director of the distance education of VMRF is, however, still absconding.
