Future trading in wheat on a downward trend
Mumbai, Sep 19 (UNI) Wheat futures today ended lower from yesterday, with the National Commodity and Derivaties Exchange (NCDEX) ending lower by 2.50 per cent amidst liquidation of long positions ahead of expiry, a leading stock-broker of NCDEX said.
The other contracts were down over half a percent each amidst profit booking and lack of fresh buying interest at the current levels.
Soybean oil October futures today ended marginally lower from yesterday, amidst liquidation of long positions. The other contracts were down by less than half a percent each amidst profit booking. Weak overseas markets kept the sentiment negative in the domestic markets. The contract closed near Rs 433.6 per 10 kg.
NCDEX Kapas futures ended marginally higher than the previous close, amidst fears of crop damage in some parts of Gujarat and Maharashtra after a sudden heavy rainfall yesterday. The contract closed near Rs 386.5 per 20 kg, brokers added.
