Eicher Motors ties-up with e-Logistics

New Delhi, Sep 19: Commercial vehicle manufacturer Eicher Motors today tied up with Chennai-based logistics solution providers e-Logistics Ltd for supply of Vehicle Tracking systems.

The tie-up will enable dealers of Eicher Motors to offer these systems as an after-market fitment on Eicher Vehicles.

eLogistics, dealing in patented technology tracking solution without any driver intervention -- eTrack, has developed a customised version of the same for Eicher.

Using the GSM and GPS (Global Positioning System) network, the customers can track their vehicles or cargos on a PC, telephone or access quick location and time data via SMS.

''We envisage, this tie-up with Eicher will augment our reach and help develop customer focused solutions,'' eLogistics CEO and Managing Director V Sanjeevi said.

Eicher Motors Chief Executive A Ramasubramanian said, ''At Eicher we endeavour to offer our customers value added services through out the product life cycle, and this is one more such initiative.'' The company recently introduced EOS- Eicher on Road Service, a 24-hour helpline service. It has more than 200 sales and service points and about 900 spare outlets.

It currently employs 8,000 trained private mechanics and training vans across the country that train and educate mechanics on new vehicle modifications and product changes.

Eicher Motors is part of the Rs 2,200 crores Eicher Group. The group is engaged in manufacturing and marketing of trucks and buses, motorcycles, automotive gears and components and management consulting.
