Dont politicise farmers' problems: Minister

Hyderabad, Sep 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Tourism and Industries Minister J Geeta Reddy today alleged that the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) was politicising farmers' problems in the Khariff season.

Referring to the TRS MLA Harish Rao's statment that crops were withering due to power shortage in Medak district, Ms Geeta said lack of rain in the past two months had resulted in the drying up of rain-fed maize.

Supporting Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's recent statement that ''no crop had withered in a single acre of land due to power shortage'', she said power shortage was due to increasing consumption by the farmers who have unauthorised borewells in the district.
