Couple shot dead in Bhagalpur

Bhagalpur, Sep 19 (UNI) An old couple was shot dead by armed criminals at Sarai Mohalla under Kotwali police station here today.

District Police Superintendent J S Gangwar said the criminals barged into the house of a retired engineer Vijay Panday and fired indiscriminately resulting in the death of Mr Panday and his wife Usha Rani Panday on the spot.

The reason behind the murder was being investigated, he added.

Raids were being conducted at possible hideouts to nab the criminals.
