Controversies do not bother ''Sins'' director Vinod Pande

Mumbai, Sep 19 (UNI) Producer-Director Vinod Pande, whose last film ''Sins'' generated a huge controversy, says that he makes his movies with passion and belief rather than a compromise or on adjustments.

Talking to UNI, Mr Pande who is busy filming his next project ''Red Swastik'', a psycho thriller and a story of a woman is misled by an unscrupulous man. ''It is a story about deceit, betrayal and love,'' he said.

He said filmmaking is an emotional journey. His last film ''Sins'' was an English film on a relationship between a catholic priest with a girl. The film was screened at the Mumbai International Film Festival last year.

Pande said about his new film that he had signed newcomer Sherlyn Chopra as the female protagonist who has been rechristened as Menaka.

Deepshikha, Harsh Chaya also play important roles in the film, he added.

Pande plans to release ''Red Swastik'' at the end of this year.

Speaking about the title, he said it depicts that the heroine is cleansed in blood.

Pande said he is planning two more films -- a thriller ''Don, Biwi Aur Bodyguard'' and a satirical comedy ''Chaloo Movie''.

Shamir Tandon, who has composed music for the film, said all the films he had done so far like 'Page 3', and Corporate were non-musical subjects.

''The songs take the story forward,'' he said.

When asked about his experience of working with noted Ghazal singer Bhupinder Singh who makes a comeback in playback singing after nearly a decade, Tandon said it has always been a learning experience.

''I have worked with Lataji, Ashaji in 'Page 3', Manna Dey in a film called 'Umar'. The senior artistes rehearse a lot before giving the final take and spend a lot of time discussing the nuances of playback singing,'' he added.
