Codava National Council to start Delhi Chalo programme on Nov 1

Madikeri, Karnataka, Sep 19 (UNI) The Codava National Council has decided to embark on a 'Delhi Chalo' programme on November one, coinciding with the State Rajyotsava Day, to press their demands.

Disclosing this at a press conference here today, Council Secretary General N U Nachappa said he would lead the programme as the Centre has ''ignored the interests of Kodagu as far as its land, culture and language are concerned.'' He said a protest would be held in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office here on October three, the day of minorities.

Kodava language should be included in the eighth schedule of the Constitution and be made into an administrative language under Article 350.
