Chappell optimistic about final berth, Sreesanth may play tomorrow

Kuala Lumpur, Sep 19 (UNI) Team India may be languishing at the bottom of points table in the DLF Cup but coach Greg Chappell harbours hopes for a final berth and hinted pacer S Sreesanth might get the nod for tomorrow's match against the West Indies.

''We have got two very important matches in which we have to do very well in. In fact we have got a few tough games coming up in the next few months so we are taking this as a good opportunity to practise and do well against two very good teams,'' said Chappell.

Chappell also said that he was concentrating at one match at a time.

''We haven't thought about winning two back-to-back matches. We are focused on the next one match and want to win that. We are looking at tomorrow's match. If we start looking too far ahead we would be making mistakes. We have to go out and put together a good performance tomorrow and then we would worry about our next game,'' he said.

Chappell said that the experimentations in the batting and bowling order would continue as the team was looking to find the best set of combinations for the World Cup.

Referring to Virender Sehwag going down the order and Irfan Pathan not opening the bowling, Chappell said the idea was to make the team better and more flexible.

''We are trying to make the team better and we can do that by having players who understand a variety of roles. We are trying to get the combination possible before the World Cup. We are using bowlers and batters in different positions to try and make the team more versatile,'' said the Team India coach.
