Manipur Assembly monsoon session ends

Imphal, Sep 19: The Manipur Legislative Assembly has passed the Manipur Reservation of Vacancies in Post and Services (SC and ST) Amendment Bill, 2006 and the Manipur State Commission for Other Backward Classes (MSCOB) Amendment Bill, 2006 . The state's Tribal Development Minister Phungzathang Tonsing explained the need of amending the reservation act as there were some problems.

The Bill was unanimously passed by the House yesterday.

The Minorities and Other Backward Classes Minister Allauddin Khan said the MSCOB Amendment Bill, 2006 was amended to rectify some discrepancies.

The Assembly's monsoon session was held for only two days on September 15 and 18.
