Welspun-Gujarat secures orders worth Rs 700 crore

New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) Steel pipe maker Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd today said it has bagged orders worth Rs 700 crore from the US and Iran for the supply of lines pipes for critical oil and gas applications.

The fresh orders take the Welspun's current pending order book position to around Rs 1800 crore.

''To have such privileged positioning in the US (Pending orders worth Rs 685 crore) is a sign of honour for Welspun and we look forward to a successful and mutually beneficially relationship in the years to come,'' company's Vice Chairman and Managing Director B K Goenka said.

The new order from the US is an evidence of the Welspun's unique dominance of the burgeoning US pipeline market having huge potential, he added.

The LSAW and spiral pipe order are largely received from the the US (Rs 450 crore) and from Iran (Rs 200 crore).
