Unidentified robbers decamp with Rs 12 lakh cash in Silvassa
Silvassa, Sep 18 (UNI) An armed gang of unidentified robbers allegedly looted an employee of a wine shop and decamped with approximately Rs 12 lakh cash here today.
Police said the complainant, Naresh Prajapati, who works as an accountant with Sai Wine shop, was on his way to the bank on a two-wheeler with an assistant at 1230 hrs.
They were carrying a bag, believed to have contained Rs 12 lakh cash, to be deposited in Goa Bank, situated just 500 metres away, when four men in a car intercepted them.
A man sprang out of the car and allegedly fired two rounds at them. The first bullet hit Prajapati injuring him in the stomoach, while the second injured his assistant in hand. The assailant then took the bag and fled in the waiting car. Both victims were admitted to Haria hospital at Vapi, police said, adding that a case has been registered and further details are awaited.
