Sultry conditions return to capital
New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) After the cool weather last week, following heavy rains on Thursday, extreme sultry conditions returned to the capital today even as weathermen predicted more rainfall in the capital this week.
It was a predominantly sunny day with brief cloudy intervals.
The bright sunlight and high humidity led to a rise in maximum temperature to 36.5 degrees Celsius. The rise in mercury and humidity also left Delhiites perspiring.
Some respite from the sultry weather is predicted in the coming days with the weathermen forecasting scattered rainfall in several parts of Northwest India, including Delhi, in the next three to four days.
The weather office has forecast a partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain and thundershowers in some areas of Delhi during the next 24 hours.
