Satyanarayana urges Rao to withdraw his resignation

Hyderabad, Sep 18 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Siddipet Lok Sabha member Sarve Satyanarayana today urged the Telangana Rastra Samithi(TRS) Chief K Chandrasekhara Rao to withdraw his resignation and strengthen the hands of Congress President Sonia Gandhi to achieve statehood for Telanaga.

Reacting to Chandrasekhara Rao's remark asking him to resign from the Congress and fight for the Telangana Cause, Mr Satyanarayana told Newspersons here that the Congress was committed to the Telangana issue and Ms Gandhi had been trying to reach a consensus after consulting with all political parties in this direction.

Stating that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had a vision to develop the Telangana Region and was trying hard for its development, he said he would fight for the Telangana cause.

Urging Lagadapati Rajagopal, Congress MP from Vijayawada not to make any instigating statements that hurt the sentiments of the Telangana people, he said Mr Rajagopal's statements had created problems for the Congress and its leaders.
