Rupee weakens by four paise to close at Rs 46.14/USD

Mumbai, Sep 18 (UNI) Indian Rupee today lost four paise to close low at Rs 46.14 per US Dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 46.11 per USD, as Dollar strengthened against other Asian currencies and crude price firmed up once again, a money market trader today said.

Earlier, Rupee opened at Rs 46.14/16 per US Dollar and in the mid morning session traded at 46.13/14/US Dollar.

RBI fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.12/US Dollar compared to the previous rate of 46.13 per US Dollar on Friday.

The six month forward premia was fixed high at 1.40 per cent and the one year forward premia was also fixed at 1.36 per cent. The Rupee performance against other currencies however improved against Euro, Rupee closed at Rs 58.43, against Pound Sterling it closed at Rs 86.57 and against Yen it closed at Rs 39.10.
