Prof's death: Cong questions CID probe
Ujjain, MP, Sep 18 (UNI) Placing a questionmark on the CID probe into Prof Harbahajan Singh Sabharwal's death here last month, Madhya Pradesh's main opposition Congress today said it was stunned over the absconding accused being granted bail in other cases.
''The CID is preparing to freeze the assets of these accused but the latter already secured bail in other cases, thanks to police connivance,'' former MLA and Ujjain Town Congress Committee President Batukshankar Joshi told mediapersons.
The leader explained that of the four arrested for misbheaving with another professor M L Nath and damaging property at Madhav College on August 26, in the wake of postponement of a students' union poll, three were also accused of slaying Prof Sabharwal.
''How could the trio be granted bail in cases relating to Prof Nath and damage to property? Why were they not apprehended when they sought bail?'' Mr Joshi asked while reiterating his demand for a CBI inquiry.
