PMK MLA's plea to TN Govt on STF 'victims

Chennai, Sep 18 (UNI) PMK MLA G K Mani today appealed to the Tamil Nadu Government to provide relief to all the victims of the 'atrocities' committed by the Special Task Force (STF) personnel engaged in nabbing Forest Brigand Veerappan.

In a press release here, Mr Mani, while welcoming the move by the Karunanidhi Government to provide relief to 12 families affected by the atrocities, said several victims who failed to depose before the Justice Sadasivam Commission, which probed the issue, allegedly out of fear of reprisal from the police, had represented to the administration to provide adequate compensation.

The government must consider their plea favourably and give them due relief, he appealed.
