One soldier killed, 2 major tragedies averted in Kashmir
Srinagar, Sep 18 (UNI) Militants killed a soldier and planted two Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to target security forces in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.
An official spokesman said militants attacked a security force patrol party at Salwa in Poonch district of Jammu region late last night. Security forces also returned the fire and in the fierce clash a soldier was killed. Militants managed to escape.
Official sources said militants had planted two IEDs at two different places in Bijbehara in south Kashmir's Anantnag district this morning.
However, a patrol party detected a mine at 0915 hours while another was detected at 0945 hours.
Both the IEDs were defused by Bomb Disposal Squad without causing any damaged.
