MK hails Indo-Pak agreement on anti-terror mechanism
Chennai, Sep 18 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi today welcomed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's agreement to set up a joint anti-terror mechanism, saying it was a good turning point in the relations between the two nations.
In a statement here, he said after several meetings between the two nations to solve cross-border terrorism, seeds for the unity between the two countries have been sown now.
''It is a good turning point in the relations between the two countries and I welcome it,'' he added.
The Joint anti-terror mechanism, agreed upon by Dr Singh and Gen Musharraf after their meeting on the fringes of the NAM Summit in Havana, envisages identification and implementation of counter-terrorism initiatives and investigations.
