Medicos strike work to demand release of abducted doctor
Darbhanga, Sep 18(UNI) Medical services in this district of Bihar suffered heavily following an indefinite strike resorted to by junior doctors of Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital since midnight last night demanding safe release of an abducted physican in Bhojpur district.
The agitating medicos also prevented their seniors from entering the hospital resulting in total collapse of services, including the emergency ward, hospital sources said.
Unidentifed mischeants abducted Dr Radhika Ranjan Prasad from Kora village of Bhojpur district while he was travelling in a car from Ara to Patna yesterday.
More than 200 indoor patients went unattended following cease work in the hospital.
President of Junior Doctors' Association Nikhil Kumar said they had appealed to senior doctors of the hospital to join the ''cease work agitation'' till Dr Prasad was released. The association also demanding adequate security for the medicos in the state.
