Medicos launch strike for release of abducted doctor
Darbhanga, Sep 18: Medical services in this important district of Bihar suffered heavily following an indefinite strike resorted by junior doctors of Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital since midnight of Sunday demading safe release of an abducted physican in Bhojpur district.
The agitating medicos also prevented their seniors from entering the hospital resulting total collapse in the services including the emergency ward, hospital sourses said.
Unidentifed criminals have abducted Dr Radhika Ranjan Prasad from Kora village of Bihar's Bhojpur district while he was travelling in a car from Ara to Patna yesterday.
More than 200 indoor patients went unattended following cease work in the hospital.
The medicos were demandeding safe release of the abducted physican.
President of Junior Doctors' Association Nikhil Kumar said they had appealed to senior doctors of the hospital to join the "cease work agitation" till Dr Prasad was released. The association also demanding adequate security to the medicos in the state.
