Media campaign to popularise Mysore Dasara
Bellary, Karnataka, Sep 18 (UNI) The Karnataka Government has decided to embark on a three-week-long nationwide media campaign to reach out to the masses about the grand celebration of Dasara Utsav-2006, Tourism Minister B Sriramulu said today.
Media contacts had been established in major centres like Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and New Delhi, he told newspersons here.
Besides, about 15,000 e-mails would be sent to tour operators and tourist agents in the State to ensure that the message reached a broader canvas. Posters, handouts and other material related to the fest would be disseminated through five-star hotels. The campaign would be a continuous process till the festivities ended, he added.
Mr Sriramulu said the Tourism Ministry had sanctioned Rs 25 lakhs for publishing advertisements in popular dailies and weeklies about the festival and Panchalinga Darshana, celebrated once in 13 years.
The Ministry would announce a special package for the two fests.
Efforts were on to establish easy access to Thalakaadu, where Panchalinga Darshana would be celebrated, and Mysore.
He said signages and boards would be put up in every major and vantage point for providing easy access to visitors. Information centres would be set up in Mysore in advance, he added.
