Maoist killed in encounter in AP

Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 18 (UNI) A CPI (Maoist) naxal was killed in an encounter with the police near Korrapadu village of Guderu mandal in Anantapur district today.

Police said the Penna Ahobilam Maoist group member Rajasekhar opened fire on police who were undertaking combing operations in the village.

The police opened fire in retaliation and killed the Maoist.

One weapon was recovered from the deceased, police added.
