'JDS-BJP govt showed disrespect to Governor'

Bangalore, Sept 18: Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly N Dharam Singh today said that JD(S)-BJP coalition government had showed disrespect to Governor T N Chaturvedi, by not rpt not following the customs to extend an invitation to address the joint session to be held in Belgaum.

Mr Dharam Singh told reporters here today that Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy had created a confusion in the minds of the people with conflicting reports about the Governor addressing the joint session to be held from September 25 to 28. It was not still clear whether the Governor would take part in the joint session, he said.

He said his party welcomed the move to hold to the joint session at Belgaum and it was a long pending demand of the people in the border areas.

Stating that the government had failed in adopting a proper method to hold the session. It could have convened a meeting of the Leaders of Opposition and Floor Leaders to discuss in detail about the session.

To a question on former Prime Minister and National Janata Dal (S) President H D Devegowda's, charge he ruled out of any scams relating to land grabbing and mining during his tenure as the Chief Minister.
