Jawan killed in Manipur encounter

Imphal, Sep 18 (UNI) A jawan of Assam Rifles was killed in an encounter with People's Liberation Army (PLA) at Taikot in Churchandpur district today.

The PLA cadres soon fled the area after the brief encounter. It was not known if any of the militants were killed or injured in the attack.

Additional forces had been sent to the area. No one has been arrested so far.
