IAS Officers condemn unruly behaviour against Collector

Hyderabad, Sep 18 (UNI)The IAS Officers' Association, Andhra Pradesh today strongly condemned the indecent and high-handed behaviour of the public representative against the Prakasam District Collector.

The Association in a release said the executive committee met here today and discussed the unsavoury incident, unbecoming of TDP MLA Karanam Balaramakrishna Murthy yesterday.

The Institution of Collector was a lynchpin of great importance in the Indian Administration. A mature democracy required that public functionaries and public representatives to work in tandem and also harminiously in order to discharage their responsibility towards civil society, the release added.

The incident was all the more deplorable and condemnable because the Collector's post in this particular case was held by a lady officer, the release stated.

The public representative did not even exhibit elementary courtesy and decency towards a lady, they alleged.

The association hoped the law would take its due couse and the guilty would be brought to justice expeditiously.
