French national detained at Mamallapuram

Kancheepuram, Sep 18: Central Intelligence and Army personnel have detained and later let off a French national, who was taking pictures of the sculptures in Mamallapuram with a remote control camera fixed to a kite.

According to police, the security personnel who were posted there in view of terrorist threat to Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) in nearby Kalppakam grew suspicious and ordered him to bring down the kite.

However, when the French National showed them the documents permitting him to take pictures of sculptures, the security personnel warned him and let him off.
