DuPont India launches five-day seminar on fluoropolymer technology

New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) DuPont India today launched its new programme to establish a series of seminars and presentations to introduce participants to cutting edge technology in fluoropolymer applications.

The programme-- Preferred Processor Network (PPN) -- aims to identify key partnerships in development of quality standards for a host of applications.

DuPont Fluoroproducts Team in India will conduct seminars and presentations from today till September 22 with end customers and major engineering consultants covering applications across the process industry, including the oil and gas, food and pharmaceutical industries.

The seminars will also introduce a range of Fluoropolymer products, including resins, coatings and films, available for high-purity chemical manufacturing.

DuPont Fluoroproducts Business Head Upal Roy said, ''DuPont has taken the opportunity to identify and qualify processors who are quality conscious and willing to improve processing capability to international standards.'' Introducing the theme of the first in the series of seminars, Mr Roy said, ''Today's theme -- Managing Corrosion with Teflon -- answers to the challenge of working with the right Fluoropolymers solutions and to focus on technologies to fight corrosion at much lower costs.'' The essence of the presentation was to provide options to replace exotic metals with cost effective and resilient Fluoropolymer solutions, said Upal Roy.

''The customers have partnership and support from DuPont to develop and evaluate critical applications and deliver more value and performance in processing uses, to cut maintenance costs, plant downtime and increase plant efficiency.'' DuPont Fluoroproducts includes well known brands like Teflon, Tedlar and Suva. These products go into applications like non stick cookware, car care, chemical processing industries, refrigerants, backlit signage and fire extinguishers.

The PPN was launched with the first of the series of seminars presented by Mr Pradip Khaladkar, Head, Plastics, Elastomers and Composites Technology (PECT) at DuPont Engineering Technologies (DuET), United States.
