Dell introduces OptiPlexT desktop computer

New Delhi, Sep 18: After its recent announcement to invest 30 million dollar for setting up a manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, Dell today introduced OptiPlexT desktop computer in the Indian market.

Information-technology managers now can focus more on competitive advantages and less on system maintenance with a highly manageable OptiPlexT desktop computer.

The Dell OptiPlex 745 is the first in a series of redesigned business desktop systems offering enhanced performance, manageability, deployment capabilities, security and annualised power savings of nearly one billion dollar to enterprises of all sizes. The redesigned desktop line will extend Dell's lifecycle product strategy to help increase business efficiencies by removing bottlenecks so IT departments can focus on higher-value activities.

More function, less friction to drive business efficiencies, the OptiPlex 745 helps maximise IT investments throughout the product lifecycle by introducing new technologies designed to enhance performance and security while easing deployment and maintenance.

New features include IntelR CoreT 2 Duo processors, which help deliver up to 30 per cent better performance and power savings of up to 40 per cent, Dell Energy SmartT advanced power management settings factory-set from Dell to help improve power savings and Dell Client Manager, available in October, allows an administrator to remotely deploy, manage and troubleshoot thousands of Dell client systems from a single console, including management of systems regardless of their OS state, etc.

''The new Core 2 Duo processor is ready to handle the latest business applications today and tomorrow, while supporting the background manageability and security tasks IT professionals need to keep their businesses safe,'' said Intel's Business Client Group vice president and general manager Robert Crooke. ''PCs like these new Dell OptiPlex systems running on Intel Core 2 Duo processors deliver greater responsiveness with improved energy efficiency compared to the mainstream business systems available today,'' he added.

The new OptiPlex 745 desktop and future OptiPlex products are designed to help customers reduce electricity consumption and save money. Customers deploying new OptiPlex systems with power-efficient Dell Energy Smart settings, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a Dell flat-panel monitor have the combined potential to save nearly one billion dollar every year in energy costs worldwide compared to previous-generation systems.
