Govt slammed for neglecting NREG
Jaunpur, Sep 18: The Congress today slammed the Samajwadi Party- -led Uttar Pradesh government for poor implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee(NREG) scheme in the state.
Party's National Secretary and In charge of the NREG Pravin Rashtrapal said the scheme had been implemented in 22 districts of the state.Under the scheme, the UP government had been allocated Rs 332 crore but it could utilise only Rs 80 crore so far, he added.
Mr Rashtrapal alleged the chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav was not taking any interest in implementation of the centrally-sponsored scheme.
He stated the people welfare was formost for the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre and it was not partial as far as the flow of money towards development schemes in UP were concerned, he said.
