CM condoles Mahambre's demise

Panaji, Sep 18 (UNI) Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane has expressed ''deep shock and sorrow'' over the untimely death of senior journalist Umesh Mahambre.

''My heart goes out to Mr Mahambre's wife, other close relatives and friends at this moment of grief,'' Mr Rane said in a condolence message.

Stating that he had known Mahambre for long years, Mr Rane said he was an active, sincere and dedicated journalist besides being the president of the Goa Union of Journalists.

''I had never seen him losing his temper. Nobody could have expected him to depart so soon,'' Mr Rane added.

In another condolence message, Goa Chief Secretary J P Singh said Mahambre was a unbiased and fearless reporter.
