Blind Federation petitions K'taka Governor
Bangalore, Sep 18 (UNI) The National Federation of Blind, Karnataka chapter, has petitioned Governor T N Chaturvedi against the State Government for not showing any seriousness in implementing the Disability (Protection of Rights, Equal Opportunities and Full Participation) Act, 1995, intended to empower disabled persons.
Through a memorandum submitted to the Governor on September 15, a copy of which was released here today, the Federation members raised several issues of non-implementation as well as violation of the Act by the State Government. The State Government was also non-responsive to the issues raised by the Federation, it alleged.
The Federation had also submitted a charter of demands to the Governor, who assured to look into the matter in the best possible way.
