Bindra to receive support from steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal

Chandigarh, Sep 18 (UNI) India's ace shooter and air rifle world champion Abhinav Bindra will receive support from the Mittal Champions Trust, run by global steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal .

Abhinav is the first Indian shooter to be supported by the Trust.

The Trust will support the bulk of the expenses essential for him to be at the peak of his discipline. The support will come as a shot in the arm for Abhinav as he begins his Asian Games campaign.

It will also boost his preparations for the 2008 Olympics.The Trust will continue its support to the shooter till the London Olympics in 2012.

Confirming the support extended to Abhinav, Mr Manisha Malhotra administrator of the Trust said in a press release today, ''The trust is happy to be supporting such a deserving athlete and looking forward towards achieving our common goal of getting to the top of the Olympic podium and bringing glory to the tri colour.'' Mahesh Bhupathi, International Tennis Star, is a trustee of the Mittal Champions Trust.
